PAT FLYNN
My pieces begin by borrowing from blacksmithing techniques: hot iron with heavy hammer blows to forge and form elements. Then the work transitions to goldsmithing techniques: soldering, engraving, fusing high karat gold, careful fabrication, and stone setting. I work in a fluid way so as to not over work or over think the pieces. Everything is considered, but some edges are left from an original saw cut edge which is a nod to the goldsmith's touch.
