RYUI
Ryui was founded in 2008 by husband-and-wife designers Ryu Hinata and Yui Taira, he from a background in lacquerware production, she in packaging design. The pair opened their own store in Nishi-Ogikubo, Tokyo, in 2015, marking its tenth anniversary in 2025. Today, Ryui is stocked by select retailers across Japan and in Rotterdam, Helsinki, and San Francisco.
Every piece is handcrafted in the brand's own atelier in Japan, using thoughtfully selected materials and a deep respect for Japanese craftsmanship and refined technique.
Ryui's work spans both fine and bridal jewelry: signature collections built on simple, timeless designs sit alongside one-of-a-kind pieces set with diamonds, sapphires, and rare inclusion quartz, each stone personally selected by the designers. New collections emerge from concepts rooted in Hinata and Taira's own thoughts and sensibilities. Ryui also designs wedding bands and engagement rings, personalized through surface finish, band width, and diamond setting, allowing each couple to shape a ring entirely their own.
