ADEL CHEFRIDI
over 25 Years of Meaning, Craft and Symbolism
For Adel Chefridi, jewelry has always been about more than adornment. It is a language. One that speaks through symbols, balance and intention, and connects the wearer to something deeper and more universal.
Born in Tunisia and now based in New York State, Chefridi founded his eponymous jewellery studio in 1999. Over the past 25 years, he has built a body of work defined by restraint, harmony and emotional resonance. His pieces feel quietly powerful, never overstated, and are instantly recognisable through their refined forms and engraved symbolism. Chefridi is largely self taught, learning his craft through hands on making and a deep curiosity about materials and technique. Engraving sits at the heart of his practice. Lines, dots and subtle motifs are carved into metal with care and precision, transforming each piece into something intimate and personal. These marks are never decorative for the sake of it. They are deliberate, often drawing on ancient symbols that speak to balance, protection and connection.
A recurring motif in Chefridi’s work is the dot. Simple, minimal, yet full of meaning. For him, beauty is universal, and simplicity allows space for reflection. His jewelry does not shout. It invites.
In 2020, Chefridi opened his flagship studio and store in Rhinebeck, New York. Housed in a restored historic building, the space brings together workshop and showroom, reinforcing the connection between making and wearing. Clients can see the jewelry in context, understanding not just the finished piece but the process behind it. This closeness to craft is central to Chefridi’s philosophy. Where and how jewelry is made matters.
While his collections span everyday pieces through to engagement and wedding jewelry, the underlying approach remains consistent. Each design is guided by proportion, balance and feeling. Chefridi often speaks about listening to his heart as much as his head, trusting intuition alongside experience. It is perhaps this sensitivity that gives his work its lasting appeal.
At 25 years in, Chefridi’s jewelry still feels fresh. Not because it follows trends, but because it remains anchored in values that do not shift. Craft, meaning and human connection. In a world that often moves too fast, his work offers a moment of pause. A reminder that jewelry can be both beautiful and quietly profound.
