Atlanta-based jeweller Starr Miller creates fine jewellery that feels deeply personal, balancing old world craftsmanship with a playful sense of imagination. As the founder and sole artist behind Pieces of Starr, her work is instantly recognisable for its weighty gold silhouettes, celestial engravings and richly coloured gemstones, each piece carrying a sense of intimacy and intention.
Starr’s journey into jewellery began in 2013 during a basic Metals 101 class, where she first discovered a fascination with metalwork and stone setting. What followed was more than a decade of dedicated learning and experimentation, refining her skills under the guidance of master stone setters and engravers including Alexandr Sidorov and Todd Daniels. Rather than rushing toward production or scale, Starr immersed herself in the technical side of making, developing a deep understanding of traditional craftsmanship while gradually shaping her own distinct visual language.
That balance between precision and personality defines the Pieces of Starr aesthetic today. Her jewellery often combines substantial, sculptural forms with softer details such as star engravings, rainbow gemstones and hand-finished textures. There is a warmth to the work that prevents it from ever feeling overly polished or untouchable.
